An initial site survey establishes the room layout, intended use, cable routes, network availability, mounting surfaces and existing AV infrastructure. Source devices, resolution requirements and control methods are documented before any equipment is chosen.
Displays, loudspeakers, switching equipment and rack-mounted devices need planned power, ventilation, reliable interconnections and sensible service access. We check the source-to-display path, audio levels, control functions and recovery after power cycling.
A useful handover covers input selection, normal operation, basic troubleshooting and the location of configuration information. A straightforward interface reduces staff training and helps prevent unnecessary support visits.
Technical guidance
Confirm the number and type of sources, native signal resolution, audio destinations, whether users need independent zones, and how equipment will be accessed for maintenance. For IP-connected AV, agree switch capacity, multicast and VLAN requirements with the site IT team. For structural mounts, inspect fixing substrates and load requirements.
